Overview
We are seeking a Senior Communications Manager to lead and strengthen Resilience Technologies’ communications function.
This is a strategic leadership role for someone who understands the power of narrative, reputation, and storytelling. The successful candidate will help shape how Resilience Technologies is positioned within the digital security, human rights, civic technology, and civil society sectors while building the systems, processes, and content that support our growth.
The ideal candidate combines strong corporate communications expertise with exceptional storytelling skills and a deep understanding of how mission-driven organizations build trust, influence, and visibility.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in civil society, human rights, international development, philanthropy, media, civic technology, or related sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Communications & Brand Positioning
- Support the development and execution of Resilience Technologies’ communications and brand strategy
- Develop and maintain clear messaging frameworks that communicate our mission, expertise, impact, and value proposition
- Strengthen the organization’s positioning within the digital security, human rights, civic tech, and civil society ecosystem
- Ensure consistency in voice, tone, messaging, and brand identity across all communication channels
- Storytelling & Thought Leadership
- Develop compelling narratives, campaigns, and thought leadership content that showcase our work and impact
- Lead the creation of high-quality content including articles, reports, newsletters, opinion pieces, presentations, case studies, and digital campaigns
- Translate complex technical and programmatic work into clear, engaging, and accessible narratives
- Support the production of annual reports, donor communications, impact reports, and organizational publications
- Support leadership in developing thought leadership content and public-facing communications.
- Stakeholder & Community Engagement
- Identify opportunities to increase organizational visibility and influence across Africa and globally.
- Support external engagement with partners, funders, clients, media, and ecosystem stakeholders.
- Develop communications approaches that strengthen organizational credibility and trust.
- Contribute to relationship-building efforts through effective external communications and reputation management
- Internal Communications & Team Support
- Develop communication templates, systems, and internal processes that improve organizational efficiency and consistency
- Collaborate closely with Leadership, Tech and Operations teams to align communications with organizational priorities
- Support internal communications efforts and help strengthen communication capacity across teams
- Digital Communications & Marketing
- Oversee audience growth and engagement initiatives across digital channels
- Develop campaigns that grow audience engagement and strengthen brand awareness.
- Monitor performance metrics and continuously improve communications effectiveness.
Who You Are
You may be a strong fit for this role if you:
- Have a strong background in corporate communications, strategic communications, public relations, journalism, brand strategy, or related fields.
- Are an exceptional storyteller with outstanding writing and editing skills.
- Understand how to position organizations, shape narratives, and build credibility among diverse audiences.
- Have experience communicating complex ideas in clear, compelling, and accessible ways.
- Are comfortable developing both high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
- Have experience working within civil society, nonprofits, international development, civic tech, media, or human rights spaces
- Are highly self-directed and able to build systems and processes from the ground up.
- Are passionate about the role of technology, security, and resilience in supporting civil society.
- Understand digital marketing, audience engagement, and content strategy
- Are confident managing communications across multiple platforms and formats
- Are excited about helping build a growing, mission-driven organization
Preferred Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, brand strategy, or related disciplines.
- Experience working within civil society, human rights, international development, philanthropy, civic technology, media, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated experience developing communication strategies and organizational narratives.
- Strong digital communications and content marketing experience.
- Experience producing reports, publications, donor communications, and thought leadership content.
- Familiarity with tools such as Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress, LinkedIn, Buffer, or similar communication platforms
Salary: ₦500,000 – ₦700,000 monthly, depending on experience and qualifications.
Location: This role is fully remote. Candidates based in Nigeria are encouraged to apply, with slight preference for applicants located in Abuja.
